Putting the finishing touches on buying your dream home requires your diligence. This comes with identifying a budget, deciding on a location, finding a competent mortgage broker, negotiating the price, taking care of the paperwork, and other activities, which are all crucial parts of the home-buying process.

While preparing to make the most expensive purchase of your life might seem overwhelming and challenging. It shouldn’t have to be.

Nola Stairs understands the length of things to consider before buying a new home and wants to help you prepare so that you can navigate the process smoothly.

As an experienced mortgage broker and realtor, he has created a handy checklist to help you successfully manage and complete every step of buying a house. Follow his checklist accurately to enjoy the comfort and ambiance of your brand-new home!

1. First stop is to hire an experienced mortgage broker.

2. Find out what you’re qualified to purchase and what the cost is going to be.

3. Go over your investments and savings and ensure you have the funds required to comfortably make your purchase.

4. If you need to sell your home, in order to proceed, prepare it for showing. Make sure it is clean and do some de-cluttering. If need be, pack up some of the extra things you’re not going to need and put them in storage. It is better to sell first and make the offer subject to finding a home by a certain date. When going into an offer to purchase, it is a much stronger offer when not subject to the sale of your home.

5. Now your home is sold, you have an offer to purchase something else you need to prepare for your move. Line up movers, start packing, doing some cleaning, don’t leave everything to the

Last day. Make sure you take care of your utilities (gas, hydro, telephone, cable).

6. Two to three days before the home-buying process is completed, you will need to go into your lawyer or notary’s office and sign documents. You will have to bring a bank Deposit for the balance of your down payment and legal costs.

While it’s going to be a busy time and can be very stressful, you must trust the professionals you have hired. And all will go well!
